Leeds Business Week: Don’t miss out on the UK’s biggest business week

YM presents Leeds Business WeekLeeds Business Week (#LeedsBizWeek) is the UK’s biggest business week and we’re very proud that it is hosted here in our very own city of Leeds! The week is run by The Yorkshire Mafia and here at jrc.agency, it is one of our favourite annual events in our calendar.

There are over 100 seminars, workshops, conferences, product launches, exhibitions and many more, drawing in people from all over the country who want to broaden their business network as well as gaining an invaluable insight into the business sector.

The events are hosted across a range of Leeds’ top venues, and they are a great way to explore Leeds. The 2016 edition of Leeds Business Week will run from the 17th until the 21st of October and is free to attend by registering online.

This year Jonny will speaking at two events, Social Media on Toast and Amazing tools for social media strategy and ROI.

Social Media on Toast is hosted by The Yorkshire Mafia on Monday the 17th of October from 8am until 10am. The clue is in the title, you will be learning everything you need to know about social media for business accompanied by tea, coffee, orange juice, croissants and croque monsieur provided by the venue host, Brasserie Blanc.

The first speaker is Becky Wilson, The Social Media Geek who will be focusing on beyond the basics of social media. This will be ideal for businesses who have already established their online presence but aren’t sure of the next step. Social media is often a mind field, and it is essential to understand how to tailor your social strategy to your business. This talk aims to equip you with these tools necessary to create a powerful campaign bespoke to your business as well as understanding your audience.

The second speaker is our very own Jonny Ross with a talk titled Want buy-in from millennials and Generation Z? Why your current web strategy will fail. Jonny will be taking an in depth look at the two most sought after generation’s consumer habits, Generation Y and Generation Z, and what you need to be doing to appeal to them. You might think you’re up to speed with millennial marketing but in fact the generation are growing up, with 53% of millennials now being parents, the stereotypical consumer habits of Generation Y have moved on and it’s important your marketing has too!

Jonny will be looking not only at maturing millennials but also the future Generation Z who are now becoming the present buyers in the consumer market from a digital strategist’s perspective and advise on how you can ensure your business’s digital strategy doesn’t fall behind.

Jonny Ross will also be hosting the Amazing tools for social media strategy and ROI event at the stunning conference and special events venue The Leeds Club, in the heart of Leeds city centre. The event will take place on Wednesday the 19th of October starting at 10am and finishing at 10.45am. This fantastic venue is the perfect environment to absorb Jonny’s knowledge and expertise he will be sharing at the event on digital strategy.

The aim of the talk is to not only identify who your customers are but also how best to engage with them, knowing when they are online and what they’re talking about. Jonny will be looking at when is best for your business to post as well as what you should be posting and how to engage with trending topics. Once your social posting becomes savvy it is essential to become clued up on analysing those all-important results. Jonny will be sharing his knowledge on how to choose the best social analytics tools for your business as well as to understand what qualifies as a “good” result.
