SEO – what can happen in a week

23 February, 2011

So my website has only been live for one week, and already doing a search for “Seo Guru Leeds” in google finds me at the top!

Although my speciality is SEO my business falls into one of the the most competitive fields, so my expectations of being high in google myself for the next few months is low. SEO takes time, getting to the top too quickly can ultimately trigger google into thinking something is not quite right. If websites move too quickly they can be easily penalized, its all about making sure that its a robust, smooth process. Making your website as relevant and as “important” as possible.

Here is to the next 12 months of hard work, cranking my site slowly but surely higher in the SERPS ( search enginge results pages ). My ultimate and obvious aim would be finding web design leeds, web developement leeds or seo leeds at the top. Its going to take some time I need to remind myself!

Thanks for my 34 likes so far and thanks so much for all the tough love you have given me, helping me make the site as appealing and user friendly as possible to everyone!

Hi Jonny, interesting read again. Mentioned before we moved our site from jshop to magento and this has had a very negative impact on our sales from 10-12 per week to as low as 0. Will it take time for a recovery?

      Hi Aksir,

Thanks for stopping by, actually moving from jshop to magento will not be the cause, but how the site has been moved and what has been implemented on the new site could easily be the cause. I am really sorry to hear about this. I will send you an email asking for some more details to see if I can help.
