E-newsletters, email shots, e-flyers and automated sequences built to turn your list into enquiries and sales
Fleek Marketing plans, writes and sends email marketing for growing businesses from Leeds. We run e-newsletters, email shots and e-flyers, plus automated sequences that welcome, follow up and win back customers, all sent to people you are allowed to email. We also train in-house teams to run email themselves.
Email marketing that brings enquiries, not just opens
Email is the most direct line you have to people who already know you: past clients, prospects who downloaded a guide, people you met at an event. A good email gives them a reason to reply, book or buy. So we plan each email around one action, write it for the people on that list, and report on what happened next. The work covers:
- Email newsletters: monthly, fortnightly or weekly e-newsletters that keep you in front of clients and prospects with useful content, news and offers
- Email shots and e-flyers: single promotional emails for a launch, an event, an offer or a new guide, designed to read well on a phone
- Automated sequences: a welcome series for new subscribers, follow-up after an enquiry or download, and re-engagement emails for people who have gone quiet
- List building and segmentation: sign-up forms and guides on your website that grow the list, and segments by sector, interest or stage so each person gets emails that fit
- Design and copy: branded templates, personalised fields and copy in your brand voice, tested on mobile and desktop before sending
- List care: bounces handled, duplicates removed and unsubscribes honoured promptly
Getting into the inbox: authentication, consent and list hygiene
Google and Yahoo now require bulk senders to authenticate their email with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, keep spam complaints low and offer one-click unsubscribe. We check those records on your domain and set them up with you or your IT provider, and remove bounced and long-inactive addresses to protect your sender reputation.
Under UK GDPR and PECR, marketing email to individuals and sole traders needs their consent, unless the soft opt-in applies to people who have bought from you or asked about buying. Staff at limited companies can be emailed without prior consent, but every email must say who it is from and offer an easy way to unsubscribe. The ICO’s guidance has the full rules.
How we use AI in email marketing
AI takes on the groundwork: suggesting ways to segment a list, drafting subject line and copy variations to test, and analysing results across campaigns. A person writes, checks and approves every email, and you sign it off before it is sent.
Email also matters more as AI changes how people find you. Google’s AI Overviews and ChatGPT answer questions before anyone clicks, and social platforms decide who sees your posts. Your email list is the channel you own. Content that earns visibility in Google and AI answers, through our SEO and AI visibility work, can bring in sign-ups that email then turns into enquiries.
Email marketing training for your team
If you want to run email in house, Jonny runs practical email marketing workshops for business owners and in-house teams, so your team can plan, write and measure its own campaigns. Across nine AD:VENTURE workshops on a range of topics, not only email, his delivery and facilitation averaged 4.91 out of 5 from 53 delegate feedback forms. See our workshops and training.
What email marketing costs
Email marketing is usually run as part of a content campaign, from £1,500 plus VAT a month, so newsletters, blogs and social posts come from one calendar and nothing is written twice. A standalone email programme, such as a monthly newsletter or a set of automated sequences, is quoted after a short call once we know your list, your platform and the volume.
How we measure email marketing
Open rates are no longer reliable on their own. Apple Mail Privacy Protection loads emails on the reader’s behalf, so many count as opened whether or not anyone read them. We report on clicks, replies, enquiries and sales, plus list growth and unsubscribes, tracked through to your website in Google Analytics. Our case studies show what our search and website work has done for clients.
Why Fleek
Jonny Ross founded Fleek and leads every email programme. He has 27 years in search and visibility and has trained business owners in digital marketing on public sector and business support programmes since 2011. Fleek looks after more than 100 client websites and is rated 4.9 out of 5 across 113 Google reviews. Because we also build websites, your sign-up forms, landing pages and emails are planned together.
Questions about email marketing
What is an email shot?
An email shot, or e-shot, is a single marketing email sent to a list at once, usually to promote one thing: an offer, an event or a new guide. A newsletter is sent regularly and carries several pieces of content.
What is an e-flyer?
An e-flyer, or email flyer, is a designed promotional email that does the job of a printed flyer, with one strong layout and a clear call to action. Unlike a paper flyer, it lands in the inbox, links straight to your website and shows you who clicked.
Can we email businesses without their consent?
Generally yes for staff at limited companies, as long as each email says who you are and offers an easy opt-out. Individuals and sole traders need to have opted in, unless the soft opt-in applies.
Do you use AI to write our emails?
For ideas and analysis, yes: segments, subject line variations and results. The emails themselves are written and checked by a person, and you approve each one before it goes out.
Do you only work with Leeds businesses?
No. We are based in Leeds and work with businesses across Yorkshire, the rest of the UK and internationally.
